How do I set up text messaging for my workspace?
Get a dedicated workspace number so you and your team can text contacts from inside Coastline.
Open Settings → Messaging. Pick an area code, fill in your business details, and we'll provision a dedicated number tied to your workspace. U.S. carriers require this registration step before you can start texting; expect a few business days for approval.
Once your number is live, you can text any contact from their profile or from the Messages page in the sidebar. Inbound replies appear in the same thread and are logged to the matching contact's timeline, so the whole team can see the full conversation history without forwarding screenshots.
Can customers call your workspace number?
No. The number handles text messages only. A call to it is declined, and there is no voicemail to leave, so the caller hears whatever their phone company plays for a call that cannot be completed.
Keep your regular business line as the number customers call, and check anywhere the workspace number might appear on its own: your website, invoices and estimates, email signatures, and printed material.

Setting up text messaging and fixing registration rejections
How to register a workspace texting number, what U.S. carriers check before approving it, and how to fix the rejections we see most, including an EIN that will not verify.
Why didn't my text message send or deliver?
A text usually fails for one of a few reasons: registration isn't approved yet, messaging is off, the person replied STOP, the number is a landline, or your plan doesn't include texting.
How much does texting cost?
A one-time $39 registration fee, then $25 per month with 250 messages included, and $0.02 per message segment after that.
How do I get permission to text my customers?
Collect clear opt-in consent before you text someone: they knowingly give you their mobile number and agree to receive texts, and you keep a record that they did.
