How do I add custom fields to contacts?
Capture data unique to your business on contacts, opportunities, and projects.
Open Custom Fields from the sidebar. Click "New field," pick which record type you want to extend (contact, opportunity, or project), give the field a name, and choose its type: text, number, date, dropdown, checkbox, or multi-select.
The new field appears on every record of that type, and is available in the CSV import column mapper, in filters across the list views, and in reports. Custom fields can be reordered, renamed, or hidden later without losing the data already entered, so it's safe to experiment early on and tighten things up once you know what you actually need.
